A bunch of DCS updates incoming! Reflected Simulations “Fight or Die” campaign has just been released, the C-130J livery contest draws to a close and winners have been announced, and we’ve got an impressive DCS: F-100D flight model preview video. Let’s go!

Latest DCS update brings significant changes to modules

DCS 2.9.26.23111.1 has been released and it comes with quite a few significant updates for a variety of DCS World modules as well as to the core of DCS.

Eagle Dynamics reports that AI behaviour, weapon systems, logistics, fuze options, ECM and other items have all been updated. The AI aircraft reportedly now have smoother takeoffs, climbs, landings, pursuit logic has been adjusted, and wingmen behaviour is better at low altitudes.

There are significant updates and fixes to the DCS: F-16C, F/A-18C, AH-64D, JF-17 and the Mi-24P. The Mi-24P updates include their own mini-update on the DCS World forums detailing how Petrovich AI has been adjusted with a new AI wheel command centre, new search and target ability, and even a custom attack mode where Petrovich can be assigned to fire on a location that doesn’t contain a unit. Livery contest winners

New liveries for the C-130J are here thanks to the livery contest. Congratulations to Tactical Bear who won the first prize with a fictional RCAF Arctic Camo scheme. Second up was ouky1991 with RAF 47 Squadron, ZH867, and SkyDragon came third with Republic of Korea Air Force MC-130J-30 255 SMW, Seoul AB. Mike Busutil – Rossiya Airlines “Flying Tiger” Livery won the “challenge” portion of the competition to come up with the Tiger Livery – a considerably difficult scheme to tackle. Six other schemes were were just shy of first place.

DCS: F-100D flight model preview

Grinnelli Designs are keeping the hype focused on the DCS: F-100D with a new flight model preview video detailing how they came up with the handling for the F-100D. The D model in particular is interesting because it improved on the notoriously dangerous handling of earlier F-100 variants though it never fully solved the problems. This one should be a handful and the video will give you a good sense of why!

Fight or die campaign released!

New campaigns have dropped! Reflected Simulations’ newest campaign, Fight or Die, making use of the DCS: Spitfire LF Mk. IX and DCS: Normandy 2, has arrived with 12-historical missions based on extensive research. The missions follow 92 Squadron in 1941 so you’ll have to squint a bit to pretend that the Spitfire Mark IX is a Mark V and the Bf109K-4 is a F-4. Nevermind that as Reflected Simulations has a reputation for outstanding campaigns.
