Asobo and Microsoft have pushed out a new update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 bringing the version of the sim up to 7.1 The update contains a number of fixes including a problem that was affecting drag calculations across many aircraft. Let’s have a look.

Problems resolved?

I reported last week that Sim Update 7 was causing problems with third-party aircraft. The situation evolved as users began finding all sorts of problems with how the sim was calculating drag across not only third party developed aircraft but also first party types too. The effects were both subtle and not so subtle as some aircraft, especially helicopters, were seeing problems with many types struggling to land at even the lowest collective setting.

According to the change log, that issue has now been resolved together with a number of other changes and fixes. Other items mostly affect the interface around the National Air Races add-on such as lobby list refresh problems making it seem that there were no more lobbies and an empty Marketplace listing.
