DCS World mission builder Baltic Dragon, famous for his A-10C: The Enemy Within Campaign, is looking for an English speaker with a pretty good Russian accent and a willingness to do some voice over work for DCS: MiG-19. RAZBAM has also shown off the latest markings coming to the DCS: MiG-19 module.
Looking for a voice actor
In the clearest indication that the MiG-19P is close to release, Baltic Dragon is busy building training missions for the module that will hopefully ship with the launch of the module. We’ll talk about that shortly, but first here’s the information from Baltic Dragon’s Facebook page:
As work on the upcoming MiG-19P training missions is underway, I am looking for a volunteer(s) to act as an instructor. The main requirement is a nice Russian accent when speaking English 🙂
If there are a few people interested we might make the training more interactive.
If you feel like helping, please send me a PM or add your contact details in the comment so we can discuss the details. Many thanks in advance!

An update today from Baltic Dragon on the RAZBAM sub-forum for DCS World also suggests that work is going well on the training missions and expands on his voice over plans:
The VOs will be in English with a Russian accent. I am sure it will be readily understandable to everyone, but will keep the nice Russian feeling about the module – for me it would be just plain wrong to have the instructor speaking with pure British English.

I also think that is a nice middle ground between having subtitled VOs in Russian and pure English version.
And as for fun.. it will mostly be serious. But I wouldn’t be myself without a few Easter Eggs.
The work on the training goes pretty well BTW
Finally, we also gleaned some information from Baltic Dragon about the types of missions planned either for release or for very shortly after release.
I’ll try to squeeze as many training missions for the release I possibly can, but there will be some for sure, at least cockpit familiarisation, cold start, take off, landing, navigation and if all goes well radar use. If not, the others will be added as soon as possible after the release.

Multi-country markings
The MiG-19 was exported (and widely exported in its Chinese built J-7 form) to multiple countries and RAZBAM has included several in a screenshot showing off the skins for the aircraft.

In order from near to far, we have the Russian, Polish, Cuban, Chinese and Bulgarian markings.
Less seriously, RAZBAM showed off a Hello Kitty inspired skin that appears to be an inside joke but I know a good number of pilots who have asked for them to include it anyways.

Rumour has it, January is the month
The word right now is that RAZBAM will be releasing this module this month. They have only a few weeks to deliver on that as we’re already well into January now, but it is possible that we’ll see this by the end of the month – or barring that, likely early into next month.
With most features on RAZBAM’s list considered complete, this module appears to be almost ready for prime time. Unlike other releases in recent DCS World history, the MiG-19 appears to be releasing fully featured with all systems and weapons ready to go from day-one. Should that information change I will update everyone.
