The speculation and the waiting is over: the F-14 Tomcat by Heatblur Simulations is coming to DCS World on March 13. That’s less than two weeks folks!
The release date was confirmed by a post on the DCS World forums by Heatblur developer Cobra:
This will be the beginning of our Tomcat journey. Our sole focus will now become the absolute perfection of our Viggen and Tomcat products through their Early Access periods, as we continue towards release versions of both modules and add new, exciting AI content into the skies of DCS World.Cobra on the DCS World Forums
Thank you all for your support over these past years. We can’t wait for this amazing community to finally join us on our Tomcat journey.
See you in the skies on March 13th!
The complete post also talks about Heatblur’s commitment to aiming to be the best in the flight simulation development business and how proud they are to get to this point. It’s an immense accomplishment from the looks of it and I’m excited to see what the DCS: F-14 is like in the hands of the public.
The announcement comes along with its own trailer titled “Ambush.”
We’ve got our next overview video for the F-14 with the RIO’s office now in full display along with a very detailed overview of every switch, dial, button and display. The voice over is provided by the same voice actor that did the voice work for the Jester AI system that will help single player pilots manage the F-14 in all aspects of flight and combat.

T-minus 11 days
Just 11-days now until release and that means that two-week jokes are right out. If you’re on the beta release cycle for DCS World, you’ll be flying the F-14 in early access in a week and a half. Those on the public release cycle will have to wait a bit longer.
Of course, this is just the start with plenty of new content coming after March 13 including the F-14A, A-6 Intruder AI aircraft, campaigns, and more. Things are just getting started here.
