The next DCS: F-16C academic video is out and this time Eagle Dynamics’ Matt Wagner walks us through the taxi and takeoff method. It’s a short but cool video and if you’re hoping to fly the F-16 this autumn, this and videos like it will be an essential part of your training for the jet.
The basics of taxi and takeoff
This time, Mr. Wagner takes us through the process for taxi and takeoff with the F-16. A few things that I learned by watching the video include the basic HUD symbology, how to adjust the low altitude warning, and some other more essential things about the F-16 including the fact that its engine is actually quite powerful for the jet and very little throttle is required to get the jet moving. The nose wheel steering on the F-16 also seems to be extremely capable of turning the jet quickly – idea for those crowded ramps in DCS multiplayer sessions.

Looks nice but I have noticed that they don’t show external views yet. It seems they are still working on the external module.
Cockpit looks top notch though, and that all around visibility is awesome

For sure. A comment on that video in particular had Matt reply that the external model was still being finished.
Cockpit does look great!
