Lead Producer for the IL-2: Great Battles Series, Jason Williams, has put a call out today to try and find some Chinese speakers to assist with localization efforts for the IL-2 series to translate the series into Chinese. Here’s the information.
Help wanted
Here’s what Jason Williams had to say today,
Guys,
We are experimenting with doing a localization of IL-2 into Chinese. I know we have several Chinese speakers in the community. We require your assistance in checking some work done by a localization company and maybe doing some translations yourself.
If you are a fluent Chinese speaker, especially a native Chinese speaker. Please post in this thread and I’ll be in contact.
Jason Williams
This is good news for the series as localization into Chinese has long been requested by the community in that country and it should help open the series up to a new and growing market.
If you can help, head over to the IL-2 forums and make a post in the thread that Jason has opened up.
Well he should check with Deka

That’s a good idea! A few others in the Chinese flight sim community have reached out as well.
I don’t get a ton of reads from China but last year I got nearly 3,000 so there are some out there! Love to see the community expand!

We started organizing and training Chinese players on the IL-2 GB from 2017. We have records of large-scale operations at TAW and WOL, but one of the biggest difficulties we encountered was the lack of Chinese culture, which led to There are many difficulties in recruiting and training newcomers (including myself).

Hey there, thanks for commenting! By Chinese culture do you mean language? I can see language being a major barrier to working with something complex like a flight simulator.
I hope they are able to succeed with their translation efforts!

With a large population of almost a billion, the end result should be interesting.
