There is a lot of things to see and do at FSExpo and this year is aimed at one-upping their efforts from the past two years with an extensive speaker schedule including some notable highlights. Here’s what we know thanks to today’s speaker schedule release!

Developer seminars, getting started, and Captains’ Corner to name a few

FSExpo kicks off with some events in advance of the main expo days on Saturday and Sunday. Friday June 12th will feature Captains’ Corner seminars including ‘Building Your Own Computer’ with YouTuber (and pilot) FlightChops, PBR Techniques for Scenery Modeling by Orbx, Realistic Hardware for Home Flight Simulation RealSimGear, Aerosoft’s View on the Future of Add-Ons Aerosoft, and FMC and Systems Operations in X-Plane X-Plane 11.

There will be a series of seminars on ‘Getting Started with At-Home Flight Simulation’ which should be great for any newbies out there wanting to get into the hobby (or more seriously into the hobby).

Event seminars will also be on-going on Saturday and Sunday (June 13 and 14) with a welcome by Flight Instructor Rod Machado—the “voice” of Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X. There will be at least 9 Developer Seminars and talks including presentations by Major “TRIGGER” Jordan (Chief of Innovation, United States Air Force), air traffic controller Derek Vento, pilot and simulation instructor Ethan Hawes, and NTSB Aircraft Performance Specialist John O’Callaghan, who will be discussing the use of simulation technology—including FSX—through case studies of U.S. Air 1549, American 587, and a 2015 mid-air collision.

If building a home cockpit is more your thing, Ian Hoffer will be there. He has built a full scale 737NG cockpit in his home. I tried to find some photos of that but I haven’t found any yet… but that certainly sounds impressive!

And… as I mentioned just a few days ago, Jason Williams will be there representing the 1CGS team with a major booth planned at the Expo (and maybe an aircraft reveal). Matt Wagner was present at the expo last year in a lower-key capacity but I do hope to see more DCS World there this year.
