An official poll started by 1CGS developer BlackSix asks which Great Battles Scripted Campaign you want next with a choice between two possible campaigns that they are starting to develop now that Ice Ring is in the finishing stages and is set to be released within the next few weeks.
Fighter versus fighter-bomber over Kuban
The next campaign has been determined to be a Kuban based scenario set in the spring of 1943. BlackSix has posted two options that he has researched including a Bf 109 G-4 fighter campaign with II./JG 52 from April-May 1943 or a Fw 190 A-5 ground attack campaign with II./Sch.G 1, from April-May 1943.
There’s definite appeal to both. For the Bf109G-4 campaign, BlackSix writes,
As a fully independent work, at the same time it will continue the story started in the “Ten Days of Autumn” and “Fortress on the Volga”. The main distinguishing feature of this campaign will be an extraordinary intensity of air battles, accompanied by the use of almost all types of Soviet fighters, which were then in service with the VVS RKKA (Yak-1, Yak-1b, Yak-7b, Yak-9, LaGG-3, La-5F, P-39L-1, P-40E-1 and Spitfire Mk.VB).

That sounds really good to me, however, there’s an equally compelling reason to do a Fw190A-5 campaign.
Besides the fact that “Focke-Wulf” is not frequent guest in the scripted campaigns, I would also be interested to try to recreate the combat operations of the German ground attack aviation during the Battle of Kuban, which will allow you to look at the events shown in the “Sea Dragons” campaign from a completely different perspective.

The question also came up about how much fighter combat the II./Sch.G1 campaign would have and to that BlackSix responded saying,
If the community chooses the ground attack campaign, you will still have a lot of problems with Soviet fighters.

Right now it seems that the community is leaning towards a Fw190A-5 campaign with the novelty of a Focke-Wulf campaign (not something yet done) probably outweighing the interest in another Bf109 campaign, however, there’s still time to weigh in yourself.
