Another flight sim developer has thrown their hat in the ring for Microsoft Flight Simulator development and this time it is A2A – a very well known developer in the FSX and P3D circles. A2A has announced the Aerostar 600 will be coming to the new sim along with their AccuSim technology to help simulate the details of the aircraft. Let’s have a quick look!
Detailed recreation
A2A are building a detailed simulation of the Aerostar 600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator (and P3D v5). There’s a good reason for choosing this aircraft as they actually have their own Aerostar (N122PC) that they own and operate. That undoubtedly provides them with the experience and ability to capture detail for the recreation of this aircraft for Flight Simulation at some impressive levels.

A2A and their AccuSim technologies move to version 4 with this new aircraft which helps to recreate the physics of flying the aircraft as well as providing persistence to the aircraft’s engines and avionics systems.
A couple of external model images have been released as well which show off the early detailing nicely.
According to A2A, their efforts are still early in the process and they have no release date yet. Here’s what they had to say,
Because Microsoft Flight Simulator and the Accu-Sim v4 tools are still in development, it’s too early for us to know with any certainty how long it will take to complete this first project.

That’s understandable and were are admittedly in the early days of Microsoft’s new sim but it is a sign that there are developments happening that will eventually make their way in. Given the reputation of A2A and the general excitement around the industry, I expect that A2A will be aiming for a release as soon as they can provide the kind of experience they want to provide to the new sim. So don’t hold your breath but at the same time I’m betting we’ll see this come into play before too long.
