Third party aircraft (and airport) maker are busy bringing the Bombardier CRJ regional jet to Flight Simulator and the latest screenshots and development videos are really interesting looks at what is to come with the jet. Let’s have a look!
Regional jets at high fidelity
Aerosoft has developed a reputation for making high end products for various flight simulators including airports and aircraft and the next big project for Aerosoft for Flight Simulator is bringing the CRJ regional jet liner to life. A new development update coming out several days ago is showing off just how far they are along as well as how much is left to do.
The screenshots show a in-development, work in progress, early version of the CRJ700 that the developers stress still needs a lot of work. But it already looks extremely good in the new sim!
In addition to these screenshots, two videos have been released recently including an interview with the Aerosoft team and a work in progress look at the various buttons, switches and dials that the team have already put into the sim.
Although no release dates have been given, a jet of this complexity is likely to take some time and while it does sound like they would want to have a late 2020 release date, it may slip some from that.
We have heard that Flight Simulator’s SDK is still very much a work in progress piece and that Asobo Studios is working closely with developers like Aerosoft and PMDG to address the needs that they and many others will have as developers in the new sim.
