Matt Wagner’s been busy on YouTube again with a new video released showcasing the SEA Radar mode for the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet and we get yet another look at the new clouds system for DCS World. Let’s have a look!
Clouds, clouds, clouds, lockable Harpoon
Up until now, Harpoon operations has required some relatively precise operation where you either setup waypoints for attack or configure the Harpoon with a bearing on launch. In my experience, neither has been particularly useful in highly contested situations such as on multiplayer servers where the ships location is unknown and the situation is rapidly changing.
Now we’re going to have a new tool in the toolbelt. The Hornet’s A-G radar will soon have SEA mode which will enable it to pick up ship targets and lock that target to provide range and bearing information automatically to a weapon. It will make Harpoon attacks much easier to pull off and we’ve already seen a similar capability for moving ground targets with the GMT mode.
And of course, as I wrote in the headline, the new video may require watching twice. Once, for the tutorial and once to appreciate how incredible the new clouds look.
