We have news today that Eagle Dynamics are planning a Friday open beta patch and that the patch will include early access release of the DCS: Mosquito! Here’s the latest!

De Haviland’s “Wooden Wonder,” the Mosquito, from World War II is about to make it’s way into DCS World with the impending early access release. A post by Community Manager BIGNEWY confirmed that the team are planning a Friday patch and that the patch will include early access to the Mosquito. Here’s what was said:
We are planning a Friday patch this week which will include the Mosquito.

There has been considerable interest in this iconic WWII aircraft. It had been delayed from a release earlier in the year owing, allegedly, to some issues with the exterior model. Those appear to have been sorted out and the new aircraft is on its way.
Remember that plans can change and sometimes Eagle Dynamics holds a patch release due to one issue or another. It seems likely that we’ll see the Mosquito by Friday but be prepared incase they do need to hold it back. As always, my position is that I would prefer the patch be held and issues resolved first.
As a reminder, the DCS: Mosquito’s release is early access and that means some features will not be included at launch. The early access features as listed by Eagle Dynamics are:
Early Access features:
- Highly detailed and accurate external 3D model
- 6 Degree of Freedom, fully clickable cockpit with latest visual effects
- Flight dynamics based on official reports, our own CFD research, and pilot feedback
- Detailed fuel system and optional external tanks
- Authentic electrical system
- Complete hydraulic and pneumatic system
- Propeller feathering
- T1154 (transmitter) & R1155 (receiver) radio units
- An internal structure-based damage model
- Most famous historical skins
Early Access armament:
- 4 British Browning .303 machine guns
- 4 Hispano Mk.II 20mm cannons
- 250lbs and 500lbs bombs in the bomb bay and under each wing
Additional weapons such as the RP-3 rockets are planned for later in release.

Great news! This is an early release I am very excited about. By the look of the various preview videos and startup tutorials it will start out as a well fleshed out aircraft.

Can’t wait to ride the clouds in that thing. Really want to hear those twin Merlins. And if we get the winter textures for the Channel map with the update as well, that will make it even better.

Will play some “Ace of Aces” with Commodore 64 tonight to prepare myself for the Mossie. Tomorrow the circle will be complete =)
