Aerges to show off DCS: Mirage F1 in virtual airshow

Cold War jet fans will want to check out a new live stream that Aerges will be conducting with their DCS Mirage F1 project coming up in just a couple of days. We’re also able to see some new screenshots showing off the new jet in action like never before. Let’s check it out!

F1 in action!

Aviodev, under their still new name ‘Aerges,’ have earned a lot of respect from the DCS community for the C-101 project. Now they are taking steps towards a rather more complex project in the form of the Mirage F1 and it looks really good in the latest screenshots. And that’s not all that’s coming.

Aerges will be part of the virtual Mineralnye Vody Invitational Airshow 2021 which features solo and group performers including fixed wing and helicopter displays. Aerges will be talking about and hopefully displaying the F1 as part of the show. Additionally, a F1 will be given away during the show so someone lucky will be winning this module. Here’s what they had to say:

This Saturday the 23rd of October at 17:00 GMT, the Mineralnye Vody Invitational Airshow 2021 will take place, hosted by Lechuzas Negras and D3W. During the event, an interview with our Flight Model and Systems programmer will be conducted, where we will show the latest updates of our Mirage F1 DCS module and highlight some details of the aircraft during our participation at 19:30 GMT.

    I don’t have any kind of love affair with the Mirage, but I figure the more planes they make, the more planes they will keep making. And more planes is good planes.

      Yep definitely. Even if you don’t fly the F1, it was used by so many countries that its presence will be felt in the sim. This is going to be great for what I think is a growing contingent of players interested in these cold war types.

      F1, A-7, F-8, MiG-17, bring them on!

      I didn’t either, until I saw that cockpit. It looks super unique, and I love the age where the jets are getting more advanced, but haven’t actually reached the fly by wire or glass cockpit stage. So, I am now very intrigued.

        A little bit of digital and a little bit of analogue here with the F1. Aerges plan multiple variants including a modernized variant with an MFD and more precision weaponry so it will likely appeal to a wide audience.

    Well, I am one of those who owns and enjoys the M-2000. But yeah, that F1 cockpit does looks great.

    Really looking forward to more cold war stuff coming in DCS,

    These are interesting aircraft because – arguably – they were some of the most difficult to fly. They had very high performance but very little in the way of pilot assistance, while the interfaces were clunky and the ‘advanced systems’ such as the radar and similar needed a lot of pilot mental input for useful operation. Some great autobiographies about how even small factors massively and pointlessly increased the pilots’ workload

    It’s after these that designers essentially return to asking aircrew how they would like their aircraft and began the path to modern HMI and integrated systems

      Yeah absolutely. These aircraft were on the bleeding edge of things and they were really pushing on what modern materials and aerodynamics could offer.

      For us flight simmers, that should be offering us plenty of interesting opportunities!
