Ground moving target or GMT mode is coming to the DCS: F-16C Viper soon and we have a new tutorial video showing us how to use it. Let’s have a look!
Locking on
GMT mode lets F-16C Viper pilots search for moving ground targets and lock them with the air-to-ground radar. This is still a relatively recent addition to the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet and now the F-16C is getting the feature too.
Matt Wagner’s usual style is on display here as the tutorial covers the details on how to use the system in short order. Check it out!
The description of the video at the end says “coming soon” and it usually isn’t a long wait between a video like this and the introduction of a new feature. Stay tuned!
Update: Markpoints too!
Just after I posted this I discovered that Matt Wagner had posted a new video featuring markpoints.
Maybe this will be out in a big fat update that includes the Apache.
As they say in the sim trenches: two-weeks!

Could be! It sounds like we’ll see the Apache early access before the end of the year (which will be great because I have some nice holiday time coming up!).

I look forward to this addition the multiplayer squadron I fly with Joint Taskforce Heavy will be able to take full advantage of this and improve our PvE milsim campaigns immensely. And just as a random thought has any updates on the A-6 or Eurofighter surfaced that I missed?

Not much new on either front. There was a Q&A that I missed last week about the Typhoon but there wasn’t anything particularly new.
As is Heatblur’s way, we’ll have to wait for a quarterly update to get a sense of what they are doing. One should be coming soon however.

The ability to share over data link will be great!

I reckon the november patch will be these goodies for the viper and the mirage updates. Next month is going to be Apache month most likely. If this upcoming one were A patch-e, the hype machine would be spun up way higher.
