Flying Iron Simulations show progress on DCS: A-7

One of the more promising Cold War types currently under development for DCS World is FlyingIron Simulations A-7E Corsair II. Over the last few days they have dropped more in development images on their Facebook page and in their Discord community.

Night and day attack

The first three images show off some of the instruments in the cockpit during night flying. That includes the night vision HUD which overlays the display with night vision imagery. For an older aircraft, this is an especially interesting piece of technology and an impressive capability for the aircraft.

Then we have the HUD showing in the daytime with the types’ CCIP reticle on display. Again, a sophisticated system for an older jet.

While Flying Iron have some way to go before offering the A-7 to the public, its clear that even in this early state that the systems programming is underway and that the A-7 is going to pack in some nice features.

Keep an eye on FlyingIron Simulations Facebook page for more.

I feel the same! Simpler than some of the more complex types but with some nice capabilities!

I agree. I think this is going to be a lot of fun. Especially in the older tech campaigns possible in the DCS Liberation campaigns. First-day purchase for sure.

Oh yes. Definitely a good addition to the aircraft mix and a lot of potential fun on Liberation.

compare the avionics on this to it’s contemporary, the F-14, and it becomes a truly impressive aircraft!
