Jamming effects for DCS: F-16 too

A quick update from Matt Wagner coming in late yesterday with news that as the F-16 gets its jammer it will also be affected by jamming for the first time. Here’s what he said.

F-16 radar affected by ECM

New jamming effects and symbology on display in a new post from Matt Wagner on the DCS: F-16. This latest mini-update tells us what will happen when a target is jamming the F-16’s radar. I’ll let Matt’s words speak for themselves:

In addition to the ECM pod functions coming to the Viper, we will also be introducing jamming effects on the FCR. When the FCR can generate azimuth, range, Vc, etc. data for a target and the target is jamming, a yellow double-chevron symbol is placed over the contact. If, however, range cannot be resolved due to jamming, a yellow, double-chevron symbols is placed along the top of the FCR page along the detected azimuth angle of jamming.

This is just another example of an update that Eagle Dynamics is rolling into one of the next updates to the F-16. Big and little, we’re seeing a lot of updates that will boost the F-16C’s completion status. There’s still a lot to come but these are some checkmarks on the list.

I look at this, I look at my ‘spare time schedule’; and then I go back to bi-planes
