As 2021 fades from view and 2022 springs onto the scene, I wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
This has been, together with 2020, one of the toughest years that I’ve had to endure. Talking with so many people from around the world, I know I’m not alone in this and that many of you have been facing this nightmare together. Things still look a little bleak right now but I tend to look on the positive and I see the glimmers of light on the horizon. I have high hopes that 2022 will be a better year for the world and yet another good year for our hobby.
Thank you!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank some people and I’ll start with my Patreon supporters. Thank you for sticking with me this difficult year, providing support and helping to make this all happen.

I’d also like to thank my fellow content creators and community members. Requiem, Wolfpack345, Jon Coughlin, Utopioneer, Sergio at Helisimmer, Evan and Phil at Flight Sim Association and Flight Sim Expo.
And a huge thanks to the teams at some of my favourite developers starting with 1C Game Studios and Jason Williams for the incredible work that they do with the IL-2 Great Battles Series and for connecting with me through the year. Thanks to the team at Eagle Dynamics for really pushing DCS to new heights and helping realize a few dreams along the way. The fine folks at Team Fusion Simulations for their support and connections through the year for the IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover and Tobruk series.
Thank you to the folks at VKB-Sim and VIRPIL who I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with this year (including my review of the latest throttle from VIRPIL, the MongoostT50CM3) and hopefully more in the new year. And finally a big thank you to all of the other developers out there including some of the fantastic people I’ve interacted with at Big Radials, FlyingIron Simulations, IndiaFoxtEcho, Parallel 42, X-Rotors, Aerobask, and many more!
I want to thank everyone who participated and helped in the organization of Sturmovikfest 2021. Some of you organized, others made skins, and others were just there to be part of the fun. Thank you all! We can’t do these community events without you.
I’ve probably forgotten someone in this list and for that I apologise in advance. Running Stormbirds means trying to remember a lot of things and I am forgetful at the best of times.
Finally, I want to thank you. The readers on my blog are why I do this and why I hope I’m able to provide timely, positive, useful, and informative information that you can use to inform your purchases, stay up-to-date with the latest around the world of flight simulation, and have a lot of fun along the way. Stay positive and thank you for your support! It means the world to me.
Thank you! Onwards to 2022!
It’s been a stupid year – and we’re back to curfews here again – but this site has brought a lot of really good flightsim fun to many. Thank you for that. And I look forward to you making one time donations workable for those those of us who don’t Patreon. Always happy to help the site grow.
Happy New Year and the best of health to all. 🙂
