A new developer diary is out for the IL-2 Great Battles series and its focused on the Me410 as well as a look at what’s coming in the next update.
Final stretch for Me410
The latest developer diary reports that the Me410 is making good progress and that it’s cockpit is making the final stretch towards completion. Eight new screenshots show off a pre-rendered version of the nearly completed cockpit with texture work looking to be nearing or at completion. It’s also a very interesting cockpit. Have a look at both it and the rear gunner station.

There’s also a new video from -DED- Rapidus showing off the new sky and atmospheric lighting with a good chunk of Ju88C-6 in there too. Have a look!
Next update info
The next update is on its way with confirmation today that it will include the new sky and atmospheric updates as well as the Ju88C-6, Gotha G.V and the team thinks that the Handley Page 0/400 will be ready to go as well. It looks like this update will come next week.
Not mentioned is the Sopwith Triplane which also seems to be well advanced in the development pipeline and is likely due in the next update after that.
For all of this and more, check out the latest development diary.
Shame you can’t trust anything you see on the il2 forums any more. Posts being deleted or edited without the op’s permission, users being banned indefinitely without any explanation.
Very strange for this police state mentality to be applied to a Cyprus based company.
Imagine a boot trampling on a human face, forever. And think twice before giving them your money.

I agree here. These moderators are becoming quite pathetic these days with an attitude very similar to that of an Imperial Officer from Star Wars and in some cases like Governor Tarkin.
Last year I was banned from the forum (Mister Smith was not the Mod just to let you know) after telling a Founder, who was being obtuse towards another member, to “knock it off” with the moderator saying that I was attacking the Founder with that statement. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg here.
There’s also the case (Mister Smith has not done this yet which I like) where a Mod will be very serious if you say anything about IL-2 GBs including TC and FC which they deem an attack… though it may not be. But if somebody says something about CloD in the IL-2 GBs section of the forum, which is far more antagonizing than what was said about IL-2 GBs, then they just let it slide; which can result in the thread becoming IL-2 GBs vs CloD.
If you contest this with the Mod then they may permanently ban or threaten to permanently ban you the next time you contest a ban and/or their attitude on the forum.
Jason and the CloD mods are the only good ones IMO.

Mods can end up being heavy handed sometimes for the wrong reasons, sometimes for the right reasons, it’s hard to get a complete picture.
There are other community options out there should you want to engage elsewhere. Try r/il2sturmovilk for example.

Keep in mind that the majority of devs are living in a country where it is a precarious situation to be linked to something that might be considered a threat at this time.

Agreed. This is likely a rather large concern at the moment.

Looks great. Along with the Ar 234 and Mosquito, this is what really makes Normandy worthwhile to me.

Still supporting Jason, this company, and the team that moderates the community that allows this to continue I see. Shame on you, Sham. The epitome of shame. The ability of people like yourself to continue on with the business as usual mentality make me nauseous.

Hi Det. This is a flight sim news blog and that’s the content that I’m sticking to. It’s not going to morph into a politics blog, TMZ or whatever Last time I’m going to say it.

Keep reporting the news Shamrock, as so many of us are never going back to the official forums again. But please, no more sitting on the fence about what’s going on there. The forum is being run like (by?) a totalitarian state.

It’s their forum and their rules. Do I always agree with all of their moderating choices? No. But it’s also not my forum. I am not a community manager there. So I don’t get any more of a say than each of you. I also sometimes don’t like how things get done in several other flight sim forums too but it’s not news.

Please let’s not comment about the well-known state of the internet and meta-verse as IL2 mods are just a pixel of. Keep up your SA. They find any wrong think here and Stormbird could have his blog taken down, bank account seized and his life pretty much ruined for his own good and for community safety. Going TMZ is safe as they are establishment friendly. I like to come here and find out the latest news on flight sims.

This is getting ridiculous by Jason&Co: I changed my avatar to a goddamn MINION, which wasn’t even blue/yellow and it got deleted + option to change avatar is not working anymore…while developers are having avatars like this https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/profile/4-fbvaal/.
So much for the “Not a Place for Political Statements” policy, huh?

I was banned for 3 days last week by Jason for posting a picture of a yellow and blue spitfire. That’s it. No national markings or anything. I haven’t read anything in the forum ts and cs about specific colours being not permitted…
Then last night I got a permaban for quoting Orwell. Also by Jason.
It’s a shame, because they’ve lost the best looking wit on the forum. But their arguments are nonsense and their policing offensive.

Hi Diggun. I’m sorry to hear that. It’s a bit rough right now for everyone clearly. Do you think that the yellow and blue Spitfire might have been a cause for concern for them?
There are some other great IL-2 communities around that people can join. r/il2sturmovik on Reddit for example.

Jason did warn that he can’t afford these political games right now, even if they may seem insignificant. Some users are getting censored after pushing the limits with suggestive images and veiled statements.
“I must remind everyone that our forum is not a place for political statements and such expressions, no matter how sincere or clever or harmless you think they are will not be allowed.” https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/77429-not-a-place-for-political-statements.

Yep. I would imagine they are trying to keep a low profile.

“Then they came for me

This is putting a really sick taste in my mouth. I realise that Jason has a business to run, but if he is CO then he can manage this.

Right… No political statements and bans for minion avatar, yet no problem with Yak-1b’s skins ‘Free Donbass’ and ‘Lugansky’ coming with the game as default. Pure hipocrisy.

Shamrock, I would like to retract my last comment. Though I am not happy with the way things are going, you have always been a voice of cheerful moderation and your excellent site should not be the avenue for this kind of debate.
Apologies.

Thanks Blue. These are not happy times and it continues to be a challenge to navigate.
We continue on as best as we can.
