The latest DCS: AH-64D videos cover landing and defensive systems

Matt Wagner’s at it again with two more instructional videos covering details on how to fly the DCS: AH-64D Apache coming very soon to DCS World. The latest videos cover landing and defensive systems.

Land it, defend it

In this first video, Matt walks us through how to land the AH-64. Most helicopters are often a challenge to land and while the AH-64D doesn’t look too difficult to land, it’s still worth going over the details.

The second video includes an entertaining lead-in before Matt gets down to business talking us through some key defensive systems for the AH-64. Those systems include the ACE (Aircraft Survivability Equipment) as well as the Common Missile Warning System or “C Moss.” Together these systems appear to offer the AH-64 significantly better missile warning and defense capacities than we’ve seen with other helicopters.

2 helos flown by 3 IRL pilots + Wags. It was, frankly, EPIC!

Apache will fundamentally change DCS, and it’s gonna be GREAT 🙂

I agree. Part of that fundamental change is going to be surrounding the close in combat that the AH-64 engages in. We’re already seeing them talk about and actively change things like infantry and light vehicles.
