Benchmark Sims rolls out Falcon BMS 4.36

A new trailer is out detailing the features of their latest version of the venerable Falcon BMS. Version 4.36 brings with it plenty of upgrades across the sim that will surely enhance the experience for fans of BMS. Let’s have a look!

Enhancements

Falcon BMS is the community created extension that helps bring Falcon 4.0, released back in 1998, into the modern world. Although there are some telltale signs of its nearly 25-year history, BMS has kept Falcon going. It offers the detailed campaign and systems modelling that has kept many F-16 sim pilots glued to this sim through its history.

The latest version, 4.36, brings in some new features. Shower clouds, exterior lighting, new AAR refuelling technology and modelling, new skins, upgraded AI, improved visual effects, systems updates to the F-16, and more.

It’s all detailed in a trailer here.

Talk about a labour of love. I still remember looking at 1000 “It’s coming soon!” articles about Falcon4 back in the day. What glorious anticipation.

I remember playing back in 2001. It was the summer before I started flight school, and I “logged” 73.4hrs in my F4.0 pilot log.
I still, 21yrs and almost 10,000hrs later, use that 73.4hrs as a benchmark. Every time I pass that number in a new type of aircraft or type of logged time I give a nod to my old friend F4.0…

I still have a soft spot for good ole Falcon4 and BMS. Good to see the devs continue to push the boundaries.
