HSD and HAD expand modes for DCS: F-16C

New features are coming to the DCS: F-16C and Matt Wagner is here to explain to us how the new modes work in a new video. Let’s go!

HSD and HAD Expand

A new video from Matt Wagner details an updated feature on the DCS: F-16C. This time its the HSD and HAD features which have a new expand mode. The mode is ideal for times where markpoints are close together or contacts are difficult to see without expanding the view. This applies to both the HSD with its datalinked and radar contacts being fed in as well as the HAD for radar emitter tracking and attacking.

The video also has the new DCS: South Atlantic map off in the background.

OT, but can anyone tell me where the ‘move throttles to idle’ command is for the A-10? I cannot seem to click them into position and the key assignment has me baffled. Only a problem on this module.

I wish DCS would standardize this kind of thing: different terms each time.

I don’t see any way to set them, only to lower them incrementally. Or use Voice Attack and set it to lower the throttle for about two-seconds when you give the voice command. I use that method for a bunch of different things.

Is this where you move them up to idle detent? Should be on the throttle assignment. I want to say its RALT + HOME for one of the engines. Or something like that…

OK, I am confused. On the Viper there was a specific command for idle detent but I cannot find it on the A-10. Also, did there not used to be a way to click on the throttle and it would move from stop to idle?
