It’s Friday and that means its time for the DCS World Weekend News Update. This week we have a small smattering of updates from across a wide range of modules. Let’s have a look!
Small updates for Blackshark, Tiger II and more
This week we have a series of small updates. They start with a look at the new pilot helmet for the Ka-50 Blackshark III project. This is a helicopter variant of the iconic standard Soviet-era helmet and is equipped with a microphone, and optional night vision goggles complete with counter weight.

Next we have news about the DCS: F-5E Tiger II that will no doubt please fans of this aircraft. The module is starting to see some work done on it and that effort starts with improved flight dynamics. Payload specific and aircraft specific aerodynamics are being worked on.
Hopefully this is the start of a more sustained overhaul for the jet. The F-5 is a key aircraft right now in the DCS line-up forming the core of the Cold War era jet battles on servers like Engima’s Cold War server. Upgrades to the type will no doubt be appreciated. It’s one terrifically fun little fighter so improving it gets a thumbs up in my book!
There are also some new campaigns coming. Stone Sky are releasing a campaign for the DCS: JF-17 called MAD. You play Vitalii Gerasimov, a private military corporation (PMC) pilot who gets put into a challenging geopolitical scenario. Sounds interesting.
Meanwhile Reflected Campaigns latest, Beware Beware, with the DCS: Spitfire IX and the DCS: The Channel Map is also coming soon. Look for that before too long!
Contest winners
Eagle Dynamics has been running a contest centered around the Blue Flag server. Winners were announced on Twitter (and no doubt elsewhere) today. Air-to-air ace, air-to-ground ace, logistics ace, and swing role ace enabled pilots of different roles to win. Check out the thread for more. Congratulations to the winners!
Bring on the BS3, and any love to the F5 is good love.
And I really like that the contest winners were named Tequila and Scotch. This is defintely a grown up pastime.
