Just Flight and BlueBird Simulations have an update for us on the status of their 757 project for Microsoft Flight Simulator. In addition to a short update on their status we also get some new screenshots so let’s have a look!
Dev update
Working together with Just Flight, BlueBird Simulations are working away on their rendition of Boeing’s 757 narrowbody airliner. Among the updates, the team reports that they are busy working on animations and working on the FMS (Flight Management System). The cockpit animations are their chief concern and 90% of them are done but there are still many to do.
As for the FMS, we’ve heard that they are working on several pages of the FMS, as well as the autopilot, navigation display, as well as the other glass cockpit displays.
The exterior model has seen a few updates too with most of the work centered on the landing gear.
They also have something interesting to say about the flight mode:
The flight model has received attention too. However, there is much left to do here. We plan on integrating two different flight models. One will be aimed at “easier flying” while the other is aimed at maximum realism within the simulator limitations.
This is an interesting development as most developers do not do this with their aircraft. Curious to see how it plays out.

I wonder if the advanced FM will use CFD (hopefully!).
