DCS: MB-339

IndiaFoxtEcho are closing in on release of their DCS: MB-339 and a new update gives us an indication of just how close they are. Let’s have a look!

Ready to release?

According to the latest from IndiaFoxtEcho, provided to us in a new Facebook update, the MB-339 is in good shape and is close to a release. They report that they are submitting a new build to Eagle Dynamics that is a potential release candidate. Typically in software development a release candidate will go through a serious round of testing to determine if its in a releasable state.

The developers report that their intent is to release the MB-339 in a fully released state with just two exceptions. The flight director will apparently not be functional at launch and multi-crew will have a basic implementation but will lack the state synchronization needed for the full implementation.

Release date is pending approvals from Eagle Dynamics.

New screenshots were also released showing off the module in its nearly release ready state. Stay tuned for more news on this and keep an eye on the company’s Facebook page in the coming days.

I wasn’t hot and heavy for this plane, but I had a few interactions on the forums with the devs and they were straightforward and seemed like good guys. If it’s priced reasonably I might get it and show some support.

Beyond that, I wonder what DCS will do if there are several modules ready all at once; will they hold one back for months or let two planes out at the same time? If people have their wallets out and are screaming for content, would they hold content back?
