Baltic Dragon announces F-15E manual, training missions, campaign

Mission maker extraordinaire, Baltic Dragon, has announced that he is working with RAZBAM once again to produce training missions, a manual and a campaign for the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle.

Attention turns to Strike Eagle

Behind several classic and highly acclaimed campaigns such as Raven One, Baltic Dragon is less known for manual making and training missions that he has done with third party developer RAZBAM. Past efforts include the MiG-19 which had informative but also flavorful training missions that Baltic Dragon put together to help get us up to speed on that module.

In a post on his Facebook page, Baltic Dragon reported that he was once again partnering with RAZBAM to produce a manual, training missions and a campaign.

Very happy to announce that, as was the case with other modules, I’ve been asked by Razbam Simulations to work on the early manual and training missions for the F-15E, and then also on a free campaign that will be added to the module.

Along with the announcement was an example image of the manual in progress.

This of course is great news as these materials help to make modules in DCS World and can offer quite a bit of extra value to a product such as this. Looking forward to reading his manual and working my way through the training missions one day.

    Still on the fence with the F-15E, but knowing that BD will provide a campaign will certainly make this module more appealing, at least to me.

      It won’t be for everyone but I do think we’ve reached a critical mass of modern jet aircraft that you can hop into an online scenario with your preferred option and be surrounded by a good number of folks flying their thing and you can all work together to accomplish the mission. I love that!

        Can you recommend some servers? I’ve so far only ever seen teamwork play on Rotorheads. On occasion Enigma’s Cold War server – but even there, a majority of players in my time flying it were lone wolf McQuade-ing it. Most of the servers I have flown on were crazy with lone wolf stuff. Basically Fortnight in the DCS universe. I’d really like to find something with teamwork. Coordinating efforts, operating with purpose as a team. For a while, before Apache, Rotorheads was like that. It is not in my experience any more. Apaches flying all over taking out friend or foe alike – no communication, and the people who used to fly FAC almost every evening US time have all but disappeared. I haven’t been on it since June. Got bored and disinterested. Love to see a series on servers for DCS maybe – articles where you go through each, type of play, and time of day to get most benefit. I have a feeling time of day matters a lot.

        Servers do change, yeah, that can be a challenge. I’m dealing with some neck issues so my combat flying has been restricted for a while but the servers I’ve had the most fun on were the Georgia at War and Persian Gulf at War servers.

        I usually bring friends when I fly so I’m already not a lone wolf. But when I have I’ve still had plenty of opportunities to link up with people via SRS on the combat channel. Having a GCI on is even more special.

        I do have to say too that individuals need to make an effort. If you go on every time and link up with people via voice coms, call in and tell folks what you’re doing, and generally attempt to work with the team yourself you both model good behaviour and sometimes encourage those who might be aren’t sure how to get it started.

    I hope he will finish the Harrier manual and debug the Harrier training missions before embarking on this project.

    Looks good.

    I really hope the Grim Reapers stop making all the weird “what if?” videos and get back to tutorials, including F-15E tutorials when the time comes. I know they are not everyone’s cup of tea, But I learned a ton from their videos.

    This is the aircraft I’ve been waiting for. I love the Hornet, the Viper, the Tomcat, and the Apache. But THIS one is the ONE in my book. Its what got me into flight sims to begin with in the old Microprose F-15 Strike Eagle III. Its also the jet my father worked the vast majority of his career in the Air Force. I see some talk about how its just another multirole jet in DCS, and that maybe. I can say with absolute certainty that the Mud Hen is my most anticipated DCS module above any other that came before.

    Its been a long wait.

      A long wait and one that looks like it’s getting close! I know what you mean as everyone has a favourite that is just a bit more special than the others.

      The F-15E is definitely a bit special for me too as I also played the old Strike Eagle games and Strike Eagle III is the sim that really taught me modern air combat. A long time before Lock On and DCS came along!

    What’s with the T/W figure? Is that dry vs. combat weight (not listed)? Empty vs AB and Max vs Dry do not get that figure (Wiki is not a good source)

    If BD and Razbam release the F-15 manual and training missions before finishing the Harrier manual and fixing its missions, there will be ALOT of salt for sure!
