Sounds of the Vulcan Just Flight update

Just Flight have just offered up a new developer update on their upcoming Avro Vulcan bomber that they are bringing to Microsoft Flight Simulator. This one focuses on the sound of the Vulcan and if you love behind the scenes information… this is a good one for you.

Sounds like a Vulcan

One of the most important pieces of a flight sim module is the audio. Impressive visuals matter a whole lot but audio really helps sell the visual and it makes it jump from a cool thing on the screen into something more visceral. Just Flight have devoted their latest developer update to talking about sounds and I love what they did her.

First, we’ve learned that systems are coming along well and the visuals are essentially complete. Sounds like they’ve made great progress. Of course, Just Flight have made the Vulcan for two previous flight sims so this is a process that their team has been through before so that seems to be shepherding things along quickly.

Audio is still being worked on and that brings us to the video. The team got access to XM655 at Wellsborourne Airfield. They were able to record the Rolls Royce Olympus Mk 301 engines in action with microphones setup inside the airplane, outside the airplane, and all around the airport.

They also spent time recording every button and switch click. I love that kind of attention to detail. Check out the video and listen in… to the sounds of the Vulcan! Also keep an eye on this Just Flight developer page for more about the project.

I realize now it was actually built for someone by Sim-Worx in Spain! Check it out: https://fb.watch/k88zT3vfNh/
If the link does not work I believe it is sim-worx.com that directs to their FB page.
