Earlier today it was revealed by the owners of the Tropicana that the resort is set to close April 2nd, ahead of the earlier planned shutdown for the resort hotel and conference centre. The hotel is closing to make way for a $1.5 billion baseball stadium. This unfortunately affects plans for FlightSimExpo which was to be hosted at the Tropicana from June 21-23.
Hosting affected, organizers look for new location
A $1.5 billion baseball stadium is moving forward on the site of the Tropicana resort in Las Vegas and their latest schedule involves early demolition of the site meaning that the resort will close April 2nd. This has upset plans for FSExpo 2024. This is what they have said so far.
Active discussions on the Flight Simulation Association Discord has seen the community band together showing plenty of support towards Evan, Phil and the rest of the organizers on the FSExpo team. Right now they are looking into other options. Stay tuned for future announcements!
