Three new aircraft are on display in the latest Flying Circus developer update. The new aircraft together with a summary of some of the work that are being done to improve the accuracy of the aircraft and address any problems as they are transferred from their original Rise of Flight engine over to the Great Battles Series are the focus. Let’s have a look!
Pup, Albatross D.III and DH.2

Six new screenshots and a bunch of new information are out today as the 1CGS team give us a little insight into the latest updates for Flying Circus. The next instalment has been talked about and the aircraft list is known although its not yet been formally announced for sale – 1CGS say as of today that these aircraft are part of an “aircraft pack” that will be released this summer.
The upgrades underway for these aircraft include the usual slate of model and texture updates from their Rise of Flight originals but there’s some other work going on as well. Fixing aerodynamic elements, engine overheating/overcooling problems, inconsistent drag values, and a “ghost” stabilizer that was apparently found on the DH.2’s physical model. All of this is leading to accuracy improvements including corrected top speeds.
The DH.2 in particular gains 15km/h to its top speed. The Sopwith Pup is also on display and apparently had similar issues and corrections being made – though nothing specific is presented today. The Albatross D.III is also on view in the latest screenshots.
Another area getting some attention is the AI which will be given new abilities to use the blip switch for taxiing.
