Another DCS World mod team has come out with a cinematic trailer showing off some of the work they’ve done to bring a very interesting combat aircraft to life in DCS World. ValTek Simulations’ MiG-25 helps DCS enthusiasts fly the almost mythical Foxbat. Let’s have a look!

Fly the Foxbat

There’s a mystique that surrounds the MiG-25 “Foxbat.” The aircraft shocked and surprised western analysis when it was first revealed and it helped kick the F-15 project into high gear with the goal of beating what appeared to be a world beating fighter. As it was, the MiG-25 was something of a specialist combat aircraft. Still, I don’t think the reality every really diminished the interest that combat flight simmers have had in wanting to fly the jet.

This new mod by ValTek makes use of the stock MiG-25 model, admittedly not one of the more modern models in DCS World at this point, and pairs it with a working cockpit. The exterior is reportedly intended to be updated at some point and the cockpit is not the most high detail either. But I think a lot can be looked past when it comes to wanting to just take to the skies in one of the fastest combat aircraft in history.

The mod will release on the 21st of September.

  1. I would install this thing just to see how high and fast I can get it up to.

I think this might be one of the fastest planes ever made that doesn’t start with “X-” or “SR-“!

  4. VERY cool.

Interesting to see the F-15C radar mixed in with the (presumably) Mig-29 steam gauges…?
