It’s here! The long awaited update for Microsoft’s ATR 42-600 and 72-600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The modern twin engine turboprop airliner has been one of the series more popular sellers according to Microsoft and is currently one just a handful of turboprop airliners available. Today’s update introduces some new variants and a variety of bug fixes.

The ATR gets an update

A relatively lengthy list of fixes plus some new variations on the ATR airliner series top out the highlights that are on offer for Expert Series 01. The two new variants, the STOL variant and the Freighter, bring in some potentially new experiences for the aircraft with a freighter and a short takeoff/landing version. Both have recently been offered by ATR to customers and so Microsoft Flight Simulator is not too far behind in offering these aircraft at the same time that they are now being built for real world customers.

The aircraft update is free for current owners and of course is bundled in for anyone buying the aircraft new or as part of some of the bundles available for 2024. The ATR series is available for $19.99 USD in the MSFS Marketplace.
