Want to win a free book? If you’re a fan of military aviation history, particularly of the eastern front of WWII, you’ve probably heard of the Black Cross Red Star series by Christer Bergstrom. The series was previously released over a decade ago and these revised versions are coming in with new photos and information that has been uncovered by Christer and many other historians working on the subject matter. There’s a contest going on right now involving screenshots from your flight sim of choice and three books are up for grabs. Here’s the deal!
Screenshot contest underway

Flight sim community member “busdriver,” whom some of you know as a regular contributor around here (and very gracious long term supporter of Stormbirds) and as a contributor around the flight sim community is running a screenshot contest to give away three copies of Volume 3 of the Black Cross Red Star series.
I’m very fortunate to have the first two re-released volumes and they are incredible books! Inside each volume is a couple of hundred pages packed dense with virtually day by day accounting of the aerial battles on the eastern front. There are photos, some of them never previously published, included in there and it makes for gripping reading in my own experience. Thorough and detailed and with far more information than I’ve ever been able to dig up on the subject myself.
The contest involves sharing screenshots from any flight sim you choose. The top picks will be part of the giveaway.
Here are the details:
What’s at stake? I’m giving away 3 copies of Black Cross Red Star Volume 3
Who can participate? Anybody that would like a copy of Black Cross Red Star Volume 3
What if you previously received another volume I gave away? Feel free to participate in this contest
How many screenshots can I post? Use your best judgment
When does this contest end? Soon…soonish depending on the participation
So, get to taking those screenshots and submit them on this thread to enter into the give away!
You can also pre-purchase and learn more about the volume 3 release here on Christer’s website!
