It is Friday folks! And that means its time for another DCS World Weekend News update. This week we’ve got a summary of some fixes for several notable campaign releases and a developer update on what the team has been doing with Marianas WWII. This free map looks like its coming together now and may be positioning Eagle Dynamics for some Pacific WWII content releases. Let’s check it all out!
Feature complete and in testing

Eagle Dynamics’ free DCS Marianas WWII map is reportedly now feature-complete and internal testing is nearing completion.
According to the developer update, the map’s terrain mesh, eleven wartime airfields, structures, and vegetation has been implemented. These all based on WWII era patterns of usage and using historical photos, surveys and other accounts to accurately recreate the map. The other good news is that they have reduced GPU load by 20% thanks to a newly compiled shaders.
Their next steps are to test a release candidate with internal and closed beta testers before delivering it into early access.
Marianas WWII is a key piece of Eagle Dynamics shift into Pacific theatre content and launching this as a home base for some of the other planned content will hopefully mean that we’ll see movements on the rest of their plan. More soon I’m sure.
Campaign updates
Other items focused on in this week’s update are campaigns. A-10C II Operation Agile Spear, UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon, F/A-18C Inherent Resolve, and Reflected Simulations’ Tomcat and Phantom campaign releases have all seen updates fixing AI glitches, improving quality of life, improved load times, and new liveries.
