Countdown for IL-2 patch 3.201 is on!

It’s just a guess but based on all of the available statements and information out there, we are likely just days (or even hours?) from the release of IL-2 patch 3.201 and I’m extremely excited. I know many of you are to. The countdown is on…even if we don’t know exactly when it will drop!

This is big

This patch is similar to only a few patches in the past history of the IL-2 series. The patch that brought the Campaign and the Moscow map to IL-2: Battle of Moscow really hit the mark for development of that title. With Battle of Kuban it was the final patch in March of 2018 that brought with it the huge number of changes to the engine and five new aircraft to the table. So too is patch 3.201 that will make a significant impact on the series.

With new aircraft, the Rhineland map, an updated sound system (FMOD upgraded), enhanced visibility for aircraft, ships and city objects, and so many more things all planned, I think it’s safe to say that this update will be consequential to the series.

For fans of WWI, the new Arras map is going to define the Flying Circus Vol 1 experience, bringing together the ten aircraft available in that title with the appropriately themed map, scenery, objects, and more.

There’s a lot of excitement and I can’t wait to see this new patch come to our systems so that we can get up and flying. Stay tuned for lots of coverage incoming including impressions of the newest aircraft, the maps, and more!

A lovely 5.4 GB update with 3 new gorgeous planes and 2 awesome maps 🙂

How many days off do I still have this year? Probably not enough.
