DCS free trial and sale coming to an end with DCS: Ka-50

The last aircraft on Eagle Dynamics DCS World free trial is coming up and that also marks the end of the ‘stay at home’ sale. The final aircraft is the DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark and it’s an aircraft I’m very much looking forward to trying out with its advanced avionics relative to the other helicopters we’ve seen so far as well as its legacy being the first clickable cockpit aircraft in the Eagle Dynamics series.

EDIT: Turns out, the sale has been extended to May 18th at 5pm GMT on the DCS World e-Store. Steam sales are more limited and the second half of the sale featuring helicopters and campaigns will also end on May 18th.

Black shark time!

The DCS: Ka-50 benefits from having had a major cockpit upgrade not that long ago and while an updated Black Shark 3 version is coming with some new features, current owners as well as those of us trying the free trial tomorrow are going to be able to experience the module as it is.

The recent cockpit upgrades, shown below, have brought the helicopter’s visual fidelity up to the latest standards.

I’m looking forward to checking it out!

I’ve been busy the last few days and have neglected to write about the F-86 and MiG-15bis free trial, however, that didn’t stop me from flying both and I will be writing up some content on that very soon!

Hope you enjoy their first full-fidelity product. I bought this on impulse while waiting for Rise of Flight to come out (having no real interest in modern aircraft or helicopters at that point) being interested by this trailer, and DCS has been on my HD ever since. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqBCiiSZOn8&list=PL9F47026271767CAE&index=19&t=0s

I look forward to not being able to understand this module, fly it badly, and crash land many times. It really looks like a beast. And I want to see the new cockpit textures.

And thanks for all the articles on the demos. It’s been a lot of fun.

I’m checking the non-Steam version one now as well… I thought I’d be out by now.

Just saw on the forums that Steam users are getting the Huey right now. Too bad, already have it.
