DCS World third party developer RAZBAM has shown off more images of their latest project and they all but confirm that they are putting together an English Electric Lightning intercept for DCS World. Here’s the latest.
Two new images for Lightning
Although the initial teaser still left a tiny bit of room for speculation, the latest images do not. It’s confirmed that RAZBAM is doing a very detailed model for the English Electric Lightning. The aircraft’s impressive climb and speed performance put it in the same range as some of the best aircraft in the world, although its short endurance and more primitive electronics put it firmly in the middle Cold War time period.
Here’s what RAZBAM had to say:
It’s still in the art work process, very WiP and still a long way to go, but it’s coming sooo good that it’s a crime not to share it’s current status…no release date, just a development heads up

The art design is superb and looks to be another step forward for their art team.
Flyable status and when will it come?
RAZBAM has not confirmed that they are making this a flyable DCS World module at this point, however, I would guess that the advanced level of the model plus the extreme detailing make it a good candidate.
That said, follow-up comments by the RAZBAM team suggest that while the art is moving along for this, there are other aircraft that are currently in the coding stage which has very little to share visually and will likely be first in the queue.
Cap is going to be happy about this.

That’s great, but is it a good idea to have so many projects concurrently unfinished or unreleased? Might want to streamline a little.

They do tend to bounce around a bit. I have no idea what their internal dev process is.
