It was just yesterday that I did a round-up of everything that IndiaFoxtEcho was doing including the news that they were teasing Fiat G.91R for DCS World. Today they made it official that they were working on the cold war jet and have showed off some new development images that look mighty impressive! Let’s have a look.
Images, video and details
DCS World’s Cold War aircraft in development increases by yet another notch with news that IndiaFoxtEcho is officially developing the Fiat G.91 for the sim. Development shots above show that there’s already considerable progress on the module with an exterior that looks extremely well polished already and an interior cockpit that appears to be coming along nicely.
The developers report that they are working on three variants of the jet. The Italian R1B, the German R3, and the PAN version which is intended for aerobatics.
They also report that there is no launch window for this project so consider this purely an announcement that they are officially working on it but nothing more.
A teaser for the jet is also out which you can watch below. It looks good enough to suggest that, at minimum, they have the exterior of the jet implemented into the engine reasonably well and that it has at least a basic flight model in place. With news that they are partnering with DIMEAS for their aerodynamics research capabilities, I have high hopes that they will be able to put together some solid dynamics for their aircraft.
I built a plastic kit model of this plane as a kid and had forgotten about it until seeing this blog post!

With all the cross-simulator development IFE is doing now, it just didn’t click for me that this was gonna be a DCS module!
Should be a fun module – looks like a souped-up F-86 with moar bombs 🙂

Indeed! They are doing a lot but I think they seem to be well placed to tackle some of these projects and less complex Cold War birds seem ideal as a way to get into DCS World.

Hey, SHAMROCKONEFIVE.
You did it already in the previous round-up, and you did it again 🙂
The dev is India Foxt Echo, not ……Techo
Anyway, keep up the good work!

Right you are. Could have sworn it was written that way on their materials. I’ve fixed a couple of articles retroactively.
