It’s been a while since I wrote about the DCS: MiG-19 (maybe I should change that) but today RAZBAM surprised with a new trailer for the MiG-19P “Farmer B.” And here it is!
Trailer time!
Here’s the new trailer. It’s style is very similar to their recent DCS: South Atlantic Map trailer and borrows plenty of inspiration from Glowing Amraam’s Eagle Dynamics trailers. And that’s a good thing because it definitely works! Check it out for yourself.
Trailer time?
If you’re scratching your head a little bit about this trailer release, you’re not alone. Does a new shiny trailer help put the module back in the public consciousness, yeah it can’t hurt, but at the same time it doesn’t seem to be tied to anything specific at the moment. Not unless RAZBAM are about to announce that the DCS: MiG-19P is moving from early access to full release.
RAZBAM state simply that it was time for an updated trailer.
The DCS: M iG-19P Farmer B has been available for purchase for some time now, but it was time for a completely new trailer video!

Fair enough! Eagle Dynamics have redone trailers for older modules in the past too.
That has, however, reignited calls for RAZBAM to say something about their original plan of releasing a MiG-19S to complement the P model. The MiG-19S is seen as more of a dogfighter with a third 30mm cannon, no radar, and a lighter overall weight.
It’s unclear if that will materialize anytime soon but in the meantime, the MiG-19 is actually quite a fun aircraft and a type I need to revisit with an article before too long.

Speaking of Razbam, did they not intend to develop an older version of the Harrier with gauges? Haven´t heard much news about this anymore.

Yeah they do or did. But we haven’t seen much more than an early 3D model. Very early.

This trailer is not shy about close-ups, which wasn’t the case 2 years ago. I suppose the 3D external model is more advanced now than it was when the first trailer was made. If that’s so, it would make sense to have an update.
And perhaps they wanted to show the Russian flag for some obscure reason 😉 (they’ll have to make a 3rd trailer to fix that one!)

Yeah the flag was a bit jarring. Classic Soviet cold war fighter and then big close visual of the modern Russian flag. If it was in the background it wouldn’t bother me at all but it was so prominent.
