JustFlight announce 757-200 in development for MSFS

Forty years ago, Boeing’s 757 took to the skies for the first time and Just Flight are making ample use of the opportunity to connect with that milestone by announcing that they are, together with Bluebird Simulations, working on a new 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Enter the 757

A popular narrow-body airliner, the Boeing 757 has been around for 40-years now and now one is in the works for Microsoft Flight Simuilator. Just Flight and Bluebird Simulations are teaming up to bring this, ground up recreation of the 757 to the sim. The announcement specifically mentions making use of the MSFS SDK to produce the highly detailed aircraft with the suggestion made that it will be an authentic experience intended to reach far higher than the standard MSFS airliner.

The 757-200/300 will be an all-new MSFS-native aircraft which will take full advantage of the SDK to create a visually stunning and incredibly immersive simulation of the 757-200 and 300. The team are still in the early stages of aircraft systems development and therefore further details will follow, but the aim is to ensure they are accessible to simmers of all experience levels, with a significant jump in systems depth versus the MSFS airliners, providing an authentic 757 flight deck experience.

The announcement comes with some screenshots which show impressive progress on the cockpit while the exterior model is clearly still in the development stage.

I am interested to see what level this aircraft is produced to. With the intention of making it available to a wide variety of skill levels this may be a product that is produced to a high level of detail but with some simplifications to hit a certain price point. Just Flight have produced some impressively detailed aircraft in the past together with their third party developers so it’ll be interesting to see where this one lands on the scale.

Still, a 757 coming to the sim is certainly cause for celebration. Just Flight are targeting the first half of 2023 so the wait will be a long one still! In the meantime, check out the announcement here.

Most likely a day 1 purchase for me. Always liked the 757/767.

It seems to be a popular aircraft but one that maybe has been less serviced by aircraft makers for sims. Should be interesting to have!
