RAZBAM’s YouTube channel has released a new video featuring the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle. This latest video represents a departure from their previous tutorials as this one is showing the aircraft in motion.
Navigate the Strike Eagle
Get your pens ready so you can take some notes because this is a full featured tutorial that covers almost everything you need to know about the F-15E Strike Eagle’s navigation features. This video takes us into the front seat and back seat showing off the interface for both.
You’ll learn about steerpoints, TACAN, ILS, and we even see a bit of weapons configuration as the tutorial takes us to a bomb training range and releases a few weapons. And air combat? Yep, there’s a bit of air combat too!
One of the cool features on display is the auto designation when crossing the initial point (IP). This configures the jet for attack all at once when using the auto sequence. Very cool!

Best indication of completion yet
With prior videos, we were very constrained in what we could see in the jet. With static, no flying scenarios, it was hard to assess what the jet was like. This video is different as we see systems, combat, the exterior model, the rear cockpit, and even the flight model in operation. Although there are things that we can’t really assess from the video, it does indicate that the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle is now moving into a state where both its visuals and its programming are coming together in a convincing way.
Although we have no release date, this video gives me new confidence that RAZBAM is on track for a release before the end of this year. Until this, I was more of the thought that this might be a 2023 release. As always, its hard to fully assess what will happen here so it may yet be a while before we can fly this jet ourselves but my confidence is growing.
Cool thing is the narrator is a Strike Eagle crewman (not sure if pilot or wso), so some cool little extra tidbits come out here and there.
Like even with 12 mk82’s, 2 amraams and 2 aim-9’s, and departing KLSV (hot and high), the engines are so powerful they have to pull back on thrust right after Positive Rate just to give the gear a chance to retract without overspeeding them!
Other than that, it’s interesting that after spending so much time in the other 4th gens, the cockpit actually seems a little boring!
Not surprising – what will make it fun is mission profile & payloads – can’t wait! 🙂

Notso I believe was a WSO and pilot. He frequently posts to their discord (probably daily) answering some questions about the real plane, telling stories, etc. He is an SME/contributor, and has done I think all the Razbam tutorials thus far. There was a “three pack” of videos a month or so back about MFCD and UFC functions/setup, but as shamrock said, those were static jet videos. But was Notso doing them. Similar maybe to the work Barundas has done in the past with the Kiowa Warrior by PolyChop… extra interesting details about things that don’t jump out of a book necessarily.

Yeah I really appreciate the added details that you don’t get from just a book. Very cool information!

Yep, this one is a definite buy. Nice big fat ground pounder.
Am I having a brainfart or was it announced this thing would handle 4000lb bombs? That would be some serious fun.

It is capable of utilizing the GBU-28, which is a 5,000 lb bunker buster. There is an FAQ that was released by Notso that includes a list of munitions that the MudHen can use in the game.

Going for the maximum boom? That seems to be an F-15E speciality.

More of a curiosity than anything, but any chance RAZBAM would be adding something like a Sniper ATP (or similar)? Maybe even some optional recce mode could be unique…
