Following the Brisbane Airport (YBBN) release, Orbx has just released a new scenery pack covering Bisbane city. Orbx is marketing this as something similar to their Landmarks and Cityscape series that they have done for various iterations of Microsoft Flight Simulator (especially FSX) over the years. Let’s have a look!

The package that Orbx is selling comes packed with 100 custom made objects and buildings along with animated marine traffic, custom night lighting, a hand crafted mesh, and 3 separate helipads for Heliport Alexandra Hospital YMAT, Heliport Brisbane Hospital YRBH, and Heliport Mater Hospital YPRI.
The scenery package is being sold for $19.34 AUD (or about $13.35 USD). Check out the announcement for more details!
No word yet on TrueEarth scenery upgrades for XP12 yet nor have there been any new TrueEarth teases but hopefully this release helps move some of that along. An Australian region update to go along with the Brisbane update sure would be a great thing to see.
Is this X-Plane 11 or 12? The lighting engine seems to be very dated, it looks like gourad shading from the 90s. A lot of the structures seem to have some kind of weird fake ambient occlusion shadows but no actual shadows. I am too spoiled by MSFS.

Yeah I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with these screenshots. Was it developed in XP11 and then released for 12. I’m unclear.
I am interested in the product so I may be a review at which point I’ll figure that out for myself.
I am hoping for a TrueEarth region to go with this.
