‘It’s almost time’ teaser portents Normandy 2 release?

The folks at Eagle Dynamics love to give us little teases about upcoming content. All of those times that Matt Wagner looked over at some parked aircraft and said “Hey, what’s that <insert airplane> doing there?” This time its Eagle Dynamics Community Manager NineLine and a clever little YouTube short.

It’s almost time…

A picture of a ticking clock on a wall with a pair of chairs, a table, and what looks like a bicycle wheel comprise the scene for this YouTube short together with a ticking clock.

We don’t, in truth, know for sure what this is teasing but it does sure seem to look like Ugra Media’s Normandy 2 which has street details at this kind of level. Although we did see a DCS World open beta update last week, it’s quite possible that this map will release this week … or the next.

The clock is ticking…

Of course, this could have other meanings and people have twisted themselves into pretzels suggesting that it means that the F-4E or the F-15E, two highly anticipated module releases, are also set to release. Although I suspect those releases are still weeks and months away at the least we never do really know.

If you missed them, I have done previews of DCS: Normandy with part one exploring England while part two covers France.

Lots of folks are! Looking at the clock face, the specific time, etc. It can mean anything everyone wants it to mean…. It might also be Normandy 2 😀

2 minutes to mightnight, what looks to me like a world war II era coffee pot. It can only be the Normandy Map about to drop.

Looking forward to the performance tests upon release. The Channel map is tiny in comparison and is an absolute resource hog.

Multi threading is helping to be sure but at least the map on its own without anything running seemed smooth on my system – which is admittedly a bit of a beast.

It feels well optimized but I too will be curious about the final result across multiple systems.

Ah, Victoria station, my commute for many a long year…

Is the F-4 in pre-order? I know that the Eagle has been for a while.

No, no pre order for the F-4 yet. I’m not sure if they will do one or just go early access at full price like the F-14 (if my memory is serving me today).

Think this is the only WW2 combat game that display’s the cliffs structure in such fine details, while at other fly sims it’s more of a white fuzzy wall.
It’s looking good. My only hope for VR users; you can still use mid range cards like the RTX3070/3060/4060 and do not need an future RTX 5999ti VCard 🙂
