A new one-minute video from Orbx provides us with a showcase and a reminder on some of the work that has been done on DCS: Kola. The large scale map focused around the Kola peninsula and the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia has seen various improvements and additions since launch and this helps show off what has been done in the most recent update. Let’s have a look!
A summary of recent updates
DCS: Kola has seen some significant updates since the map released in the spring. The addition of winter textures and several new detailed areas on the map kicked things off but now a new update has arrived and a video has been released by Orbx summarizing some of the changes.
Some of the highlights of the updates made to the map and thus mentioned in the video include new more detailed textures for the summer version of the map, new airfields (EFKS, EFIV, and ESNJ), new towns, rivers and lakes. There’s also a tease for some upcoming instant action missions for the map.
I like the short updates giving us both visual showcases of what has changed as well as a look at some of the new scenery elements. Kola does seem to be progressing well and we’ll stay tuned for more future updates as the scenery is built out.
