RAZBAM release cold start video, tease release date

Seeing an accurate Cold Start video is an important part of the training regime for most DCS World modules and its also yet another one of those teltale indicators that a module is reaching maturity. In this RAZBAM video we see a two-seat start-up in multi-crew which makes it all the more impressive. And as an added bonus… there’s a pretty big tease for a release date.

Cold start time

This 24-minute video is a complete, in-depth cold start walkthrough that gets the whole jet up and running with commentary on each item. This is by-the-book so those of you who love that sort of experience get to see the complete process.

Then we go to the back seat where the start-up sequence there is covered. There’s less to do but its still part of the process.

We have a date

I have to apologize to regular readers because we’ve been through some ups and downs on the F-15E’s release date. I’ve speculated with what I thought was good info and been proven wrong again and again on when this jet might come. Now we appear to have something a bit more concrete – I hope!

The last few seconds of the above video involves some letters and numbers being punched in on the scratchpad. They read: EA-072023. That’s easy to decipher as July 2023 for early access.

That means that, if this ends up being the actual date, that the F-15E will be coming as early as the first week in July which is, believe it or not, 5-weeks away. Of course the more realistic bet is sometime mid-month which takes us to 7 weeks away. Whatever the case may be… year of the Strike Eagle is finally going to be realized. I hope I don’t have to eat my words in about 6-7 weeks time. Stay tuned for more!

My guess is one can only poke the bear for so long before the enviable happens. Previews do look good however and besides the usual (occasional) trolling there’s positivity/good reviews associated with the mod so far.

Just looking forward to whenever it’s ready and see how she flies.

I maintain my view that the module will be great and that the powers-that-be kinda porked the whole thing. The mega-hype mixed with the clumsy pre-order roll out mixed with the “Now be quiet and wait while we hype it some more and at best give you cryptic comments about a release date!” is all a bit… mushy.

Fair. There seems to be a lot of opinion that the hype was ramped up a little too soon. There’s something to be said for the polar-opposite approach taken with the Mirage F1 where the preview content was much lighter in volume and they didn’t really go into overdrive in terms of marketing it until it was practically committed for release.

    “EA-072023” looks more like July 20th, 2023 (Month/Day/Year) to me…

Amusingly, this teaser and the ambiguity between 07-2023 & 07-20-23 is another example of such things backfiring. Either don’t tease it or say it clearly & officially.

Your crystal ball will only get the software update after (whatever program/model/landmass) is released….we are all human. Imminent release is…..within days, but hey ho, no different from actual in service dates from any military organisation you want to name. Wish we had the handbook to pore over though.

      This is true! 😅

Baltic Dragon has reported the manual will be out prior to the module.
